1kg Heroin seized from Jeddah-bound passenger at Islamabad airport

ISLAMABAD: The Airport Security Force (ASF) seized at least one kilogramme of heroin from a passenger at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport on Thursday night, said the officials.

According to the officials, Zabat ur Rehman was due to travel on Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) Jeddah-bound flight 741 when the drugs that were hidden in his clothes were discovered.

Rehman, a resident of Hangu, was then handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and transferred to ANF’s office in Rawalpindi.

A First Information Report (FIR) was later registered against him under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997.

Several cases have surfaced in past where narcotics have been seized from flights originating from Pakistan.
