Tahir-ul-Qadri returns after directors agree to give him same screen-time as Imran Khan

LAHORE – Star performer Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri will finally return to screens of all sizes this summer, after long stalled negotiations with directors had postponed his appearance for a few weeks.

As reported, by The Dependent on July 15, Qadri had clearly told the directors that he won’t ‘perform for the same package.’

“They’re offering me the 2013-14 rates in the year 2017. It’s ridiculous,” he had told the media. “I won’t perform for the same package. I need a revised rate that not only includes an increment and a bonus but also allows other perks.”

However, the latest developments which paved way for his stage performance in Lahore on Tuesday, suggest that those ‘perks’ have been agreed upon.

“Qadri will share equal screen-time with Imran Khan,” one of the makeup artists of Tahir-ul-Qadri’s entourage confirmed while talking to The Dependent.

It is important to note here that in The Dependent’s report last month it had been revealed that Dr Qadri wasn’t willing to play the sidekick this time round.

“The current terms are similar to the ones that Aamir Khan and Salman Khan had agreed upon with the producers before signing up for Andaz Apna Apna,” the makeup artist further confirmed.

Khan’s entourage has, however, downplayed the screen-time clause, considering that it has been agreed that the script would always be shared with Khan first.

“It’s what’s done with the time that matters the most,” Khan’s close aide Shah Mehmood Qureshi said while talking to The Dependent.

“As long as not it’s not his BlackBerry screen, we’re fine.”
