Representatives of the opposition parties’ representatives have denounced the government’s claims that Nawaz Sharif’s ‘homecoming’ rally has the support of the general public.
Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief, Sheikh Rasheed said that Nawaz Sharif’s speech was a pack of lies, saying that the day PML-N started speaking the truth would be the day they end.
He also claimed that the people of Islamabad did not come out in support of the ousted PM and congratulated residents of Rawalpindi for outrightly rejecting the rally.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry criticised the use of government resources to carry out the rally adding that whosoever advised Nawaz Sharif to carry out the rally actually took a revenge from the former prime minister.
PML-Q chief Pervez Elahi wondered who Nawaz Sharif was protesting against since PML-N is the ruling party all over the central Punjab. He also said that the people of Pakistan have rejected Nawaz Sharif’s ‘anti-judiciary’ march.
