Opposition parties’ representatives have rejected the government’s claims that Nawaz Sharif’s ‘GT Road rally’ reflects the trust and love of the people.

Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed, a resident of Rawalpindi, termed Nawaz’s speech last night as a pack of lies, saying the day the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) starts speaking the truth will be their last day.

He further added that the residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi had rejected the former premier as the public did not come out to support him.

“It was one of the weakest rallies I have ever seen” he claimed.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf made similar claims as its spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry lashed out on the use of state resources from Punjab, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan during the rally.

Chaudhry claimed those who advised Nawaz to take out the rally have taken revenge from Nawaz.

While commenting on the rally, former Chief Minister of Punjab Pervaiz Elahi questioned about who the government was protesting against. The ruling party is celebrating as if they have conquered Kashmir.

Chaudhry said Nawaz was disqualified on corruption charges and claimed the people have discarded Nawaz’s ‘anti-judiciary’ demonstration.
