Man dies from electric shock after touching live kite string

LAHORE: In the area of Ghazi Police Station, a resident of Usman Nagar street no 14, named Irfan, who is a father of four, died from electric shock through a live kite string.

2 days ago, Irfan was sleeping on the roof of his house when a kite string fell on him. The deceased tried to remove the string which had been in contact with a live WAPDA wire. From the resulting electric shock, Irfan became unconscious. His family informed the police and he was taken to Shalimar Hospital.

After being unable to recover from the incident, Irfan passed away on Thursday. Police have taken the body into custody for postmortem.

Irfan’s family and neighbours have blamed the Ghaziabad Police for being unable to curb kite-flying in the area.
