Campaigns encouraging people to vote kick off in Badin

BADIN: Awareness campaigns on the importance of voting are being held throughout Badin district. The campaign aims to aware people about the value of their votes so as to further strengthen the process of democracy.

These views were expressed by Badin District Election Officer Abdul Zubair Khan in Badin Press Club on Thursday.

Zubair Khan said the country’s condition cannot be changed if masses do not understand the power of each and every vote.

The government is making all-out efforts to motivate people so they exercise their right to vote for the sake of democracy, he added.

Registration and casting of a vote are vital for the development of any country and it is a prior responsibility of citizens, said the district election officer.

Senior Election Assistant Muhammad Hassan Bucho said that there is no hope for the betterment of the country unless massive political participation is ensured. Voting could change the destiny of any country, he added.

On the occasion, the Vote Education Committee’s (VEC) members, civil society’s representatives and journalists, including Badin Press Club President Tanveer Ahmed Arain, Shoukat Memon, Abdul Majeed Mallah, Abdul Latif Zargar, Imran Khawaja, Hamid Soomro, Anees-Rehman, Deedar Hussain Mallah, were also present.
