RAWALPINDI: Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Wednesday said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif ‘miscalculated’ his move and took a major risk believing a lot of people will attend his rally.
Nawaz Sharif was leading a rally to Lahore at GT Road after his disqualification by Supreme Court. He left Punjab House, Islamabad, for Lahore.
The outspoken politician, talking to a private news channel, said the majority of the people in his rally were those who were brought by the PML-N leaders, adding Nawaz’s political strategy might backfire.
Commenting on the slow pace of the former premier’s rally, Sheikh Rashid said there were people in a markedly low number attending the rally; hence, they may reach Lahore by this evening if they move a bit faster. That is why, he added, they took three hours to leave Punjab House in the first place.
Commenting on his own political rally, he announced that it will be held at his residence, Lal Haveli, claiming a huge number of people will attend it.
His rally is scheduled on August 13.
