LAHORE: The outpatient department of Services Hospital in the provincial capital remained closed on Wednesday, as the Young Doctors Association (YDA) strike enters its ninth day.

This happened despite the recruitment of new doctors by the health authorities after at least 70 doctors were relieved of duty following the strike due to prolonged absence.

However, Sir Ganga Ram and Mayo hospitals are still conducting operations, according to the health department.

In Multan, doctors were present only in the emergency wards and not in OPDs.

Patients continue to suffer due to the ongoing strike which has affected the hospitals in the whole province.
