Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday said Article 6 of the Constitution should be applied on Nawaz Sharif for flaying the Panama case verdict by the Supreme Court.

Addressing media here after the party’s central executive committee meeting, he asked what message was the former prime minister trying to give to the country by taking out rallies despite the Supreme Court verdict disqualifying Nawaz.

He was referring to the planned GT road rally by PML-N on August 9. “They are afraid of National Accountability Bureau, if they think they can escape from NAB by putting pressure on institutions by taking out rallies they are wrong,” the PTI chief said.

Imran added that the entire PML-N was busy trying to save one family instead of parting ways with it. He said that PML-N should have parted ways with Sharif family after the Panama case verdict and elected a new president.

He said after utilising state resources Nawaz Sharif would reach Lahore. He said sufficient chances were given to Sharif family to prove themselves innocent but they failed. He said defeat was destined to PML-N.

Imran Khan asked Nawaz Sharif to disclose who was hatching conspiracy against Sharifs. “When Nawaz Sharif is not admitting the verdict of SC then others who are languishing in jails may accept the court’s decision because they are poor”, he added.

He further said, ‘If all thieves are assembled at one place then their total stolen money would be lesser than the house of Nawaz Sharif’s son. When PTI came on roads, PML-N alleged that it was meant to derail the democracy after getting signal from somewhere, he said, adding, now Nawaz Sharif was not derailing the democracy.

PTI chief said that Nawaz Sharif wanted to ruin the institutions to save his corruption. He said Nawaz Sharif was scared of NAB because of lack of proofs. He asked the NAB to file appeal in Hudaibiya paper mills case. He said acquiring Iqama was a way of money laundering. He said people got Iqama for the purpose of money laundering. He said foreign minister and interior minister both were residents of Dubai. He alleged both were exerting pressure on NAB and Supreme Court.

He claimed that Rs 200 billion were being spent through new ministers for purchase of election. He said Ishaq Dar who himself would be facing NAB, has been made finance minister. He asked the masses to boycott channel of Mir Shakeel

About Ayesha Gulalai issue, he expressed the desire to hold investigation into the matter. He said PTI will present its stance in the parliament. This is not justice that a committee has been constituted, comprising PTI opponents, he added. He dispelled the impression of leveling allegation on Ayesha Gulalai, saying who has leveled allegation must provide the proof. He termed arrival of Tahir-ul-Qadri as welcoming step, saying PTI would help him getting justice in Model Town incident.

He announced that he has directed party workers to prepare for general elections, since PTI was expecting early polls.

Expressing disappointment over the actions of incumbent Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Khan said that Abbasi should not have defended the Sharif family’s ‘corruption’.

“The course opted by the ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif only leads to early elections,” Khan claimed. He also announced that PTI will begin its election campaign on August 14.

“I would have given them some tips on how to live in containers if they had been going for something good,” Khan quipped, before alleging that Nawaz and his supporters “are heading out to destroy institutions”.

“They [the PML-N] are ruling in the centre and in Punjab, then who are they protesting against?” Khan asked, reminding Sharif that the unanimous Panamagate decision came out after weeks of investigation.

“You are trying to imply that the military is not letting democracy continue although the army chief has clearly stated that they stand with the Constitution.” “I challenge them to pull out 10, 20 per cent of the number of people that came to the Parade Ground jalsa on a 48-hour notice,” he said.
