34 suspects arrested in search operations ahead of Nawaz’s return

LAHORE: Taking no chances ahead of the arrival of the deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Lahore, the security agencies and Police in the provincial capital, have stepped up their search operations to nab the suspected terrorists and outlaws. At least 34 suspects were taken into custody during police search operations in different parts of the city on Wednesday night.

According to the details, search operations were carried out in Nawankot, Lower Mall, Ravi Road, Sanda, Lari Adda, Ghalib Market, Naseerabad and Kot Lakhpat areas of the city.

Hotels, bus-stands, hostels and flats were searched in these localities. Officials used a biometric device for identification of the residents. At least 34 unidentified persons were taken into custody who failed to produce any documents for identification. Police sources confirmed that the arrested persons were shifted to their respective police stations for further investigation.

On the other hand, police have also cordoned off the route of PML-N rally and started checking of suspected vehicles in the city.
