LAHORE: In Okara, 11 SPs, 9 DPOs and 78 investigation officers have been changed, but despite that, Haveli Lakha Police Station, in 22 years, has been unable to present relevant documents and arrest criminals.

In the murder of 24-year-old Aslam in 1995, no document related to the case has been presented in the court so far. Aslam’s widow has been going to officers in the Okara Police Station as well as courts in Lahore for 22 years, but has been provided no justice at all.

According to Aslam’s widow Kulsoom, Aslam’s murder was one of the 40 cases for which Tahir and Imdad are wanted in Haveli Lakha. She said that she visited several female police officials to find justice over the years. On September 7, 2000, documents pertaining to the case were presented to Lahore AIG after which the documents were not returned to the police station and have been made missing. So far, the criminals have not been arrested; they are not only roaming free but also threaten to kill, she said.

Kulsoom has requested Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif, Punjab AIG Arif Nawaz and chief justice to secure her family and give them justice. She requested that the Haveli Lakha Station be directed to present pertaining documents in the court.
