KARACHI: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has said that they have killed at least suspected terrorists in an alleged encounter in the Machar Colony area of Karachi, in the early hours of Sunday.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shahid Hamid, this raid was carried out by the CTD upon a tip-off, in the residential area of Machar Colony, Karachi.
He added that the terrorists opened fire as soon as the police approached and a heavy exchange of fire resulted in the death of four terrorists, while four were arrested by the police.
CTD claims that a huge cache of arms and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), have been recovered from these alleged terrorists.
The police, in order to nab further terrorists, have recruited heavy contingents to conduct search operations in the area.
