‘35,000 patients attended in LGH in the past week’

LAHORE: A meeting of Academic Council of Lahore General Hospital (LGH) was held under the Chairmanship of Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Ghias Tayyab in which all professors and heads of different departments took part.

The meeting was told in one week between Aug 01 to 07, as many as 35,000 patients were attended in out-door and emergency department of LGH. Similarly, in one day of Monday, August 07 around 3,500 OPD patients were looked after in LGH while hundreds of patients were availing facilities of MRI, ultrasound and lab tests.

Addressing the meeting, PGMI principal said that attending patients in such big number is a clear cut proof that doctors and the para medical staff was available round the clock in the hospital and both morning and evening shifts were working smoothly. He said that proper monitoring was underway and he is getting a report of each department on a daily basis.

He further said that it is a missionary field and no patient will be left unattended at any cost. Medical Superintendent of LGH Dr Ghulam Sabir briefed the meeting about different departments and told that there was no difficulty in any section of the hospital and work was going on as per schedule.
