Bright future linked to supremacy of constitution, stability of democracy: CM

Says Nawaz Sharif’s services cannot be overlooked

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Senate is an important institution for effective legislation, the stability of democracy and protection of public rights.

In his message issued on Sunday in connection with the 45th Foundation Day of the Parliament, he said that Senate has played an active role in securing the privileges of the federation and its units.

He said that the house has played a significant role, not just in furnishing individuals with their essential rights, but also in the constitutional and democratic process as well.

Senate strengthens state institutions to such an extent that they could provide the best services to the public automatically, he added.

The CM said that political forces would have to be resilient to establish high democratic traditions for the political and social development.

“Fate of the nation is connected to the supremacy of constitution and stability of democracy and we need to work for national interests by disregarding personal interests for the bright future of democracy”, he added.

Shehbaz Sharif said that all political parties have to make a commitment to struggle together for the firmness of democracy.

Observance of this day is aimed at creating the awareness among masses to acknowledge the supremacy of Senate and its high powers wholeheartedly, he added.

The CM also said that steering Pakistan out of economic bankruptcy and putting it on the road to progress was a historical achievement of Nawaz Sharif and his unmatched services during the last four-years could never be overlooked.

He said that Nawaz Sharif was the sovereign of democracy and his struggle for promoting and stabilising democratic traditions in the country was exceptional. “Nawaz Sharif is a leader who has always preferred country’s development and stability, and he lives in the hearts of the people of Pakistan and 200 million people of the country are standing with their vibrant leader who gave them peace, prosperity and development,” he added.

The Chief Minister said that PML-N had rooted out the nation and country from the vortex of issues and challenges which is why it was the country’s largest and most popular political party. PML-N had set records of public service and all projects carried out under the supervision of Nawaz Sharif had served the interest of common man, he added.

Shehbaz Sharif said that those taking politics as a sport and trying to deceive the public with their tactics would never succeed, as such nefarious elements only want disorder in the country. He said that no one can let the journey of prosperity be halted at any cost.
