NAB references against ex-ruling family declared as reason behind plea

ISLAMABAD: A petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC) has been filed, which sough putting the names of the disqualified prime minister and his family on Exit Control List (ECL).

The petitioner, who is also Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) Islamabad Chapter’s President, filed the petition through his lawyer Abrar Hussain Shah.

In the petition, the interior ministry, FIA DG, Immigration and Passports director, Nawaz Sharif, Mariyam Nawaz, Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz, Captain (R) Safdar and Ishaq Dar have been made as party.

The petitioner has adopted the stance that because the Supreme Court has issued directives to NAB to file references against Nawaz Sharif and his family, it is in the larger interest that their names be put on the ECL.

He pleaded that Nawaz Sharif and family will never return to Pakistan if they leave for abroad. He said Nawaz Sharif has been proven a culprit because of his failure to provide money trial. He prayed to put the name of Sharif family on ECL in order to stop them from leaving the country.

IHC Registrar after receiving the petition, has fixed the date for the next hearing.
