ISLAMABAD: In an interview on Thursday, PTI Chairman Imran Khan said that PML-N was behind the allegations levelled by Ayesha Gulalai.
Khan said that he was surprised that Gulalai had “stooped” so low, and that it was only plausible that PML-N had supported her in the attack, to avenge the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif.
“The PML-N has used her and bought her. This is the tried and tested method of PML-N,” said Imran.
Earlier, Ayesha Gulalai, MNA and PTI lawmaker had levelled allegations of sexual harassment against Imran Khan. Subsequently, women in the party had come to the defense of the chairman, denying that the party chief cultivated a culture of marginalising and disrespecting women.
“I have worked with numerous women in my career, whether it’s in my party, in England and in the charity hospital I established. How many women have levelled such allegations against me?” asked Imran Khan.
He further said that PTI has brought women to the forefront of politics in Pakistan.
“I have told everyone in the party that anyone who does not respect women in our party, I will take action against them personally,” he said.
Imran also said that he has refrained his party leaders and supporters from targeting Gulalai’s sister. Gulalai however, has claimed that she is being threatened by PTI supporters.
