Nurses of LGH to get Rs 9000 professional allowance per month

LAHORE: On the directions of Punjab CM, all nurses working at Lahore General Hospital would receive Rs 9000 Professional Allowance which is being paid to them with their salary of July and payable today.

In this regard, Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Ghiyas-un-Nabi Tayyab said that nurses are the back-bone of the medical field and the present government has given them due importance.

He said that this professional allowance would encourage the nurses and improve their efficiency. He called upon the nurses to work with more zeal and fervor for the betterment of the patients. He further said that earlier, this allowance was Rs 4000 and paid since January while from July 1, it is being enhanced to Rs 9000 which would help them to support their families financially.

He said that the nurses’ department has been upgraded and more qualified and trained staff is available in the public sector hospital. Lahore General Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Ghulam Sabir also congratulated the nurses on getting full professional allowance and assured them that further steps will be taken for their welfare. On this occasion, nurses Iram, Uzma, Majida, Gulshan, Khalida and Nudhrat thanked the Punjab government for providing them the allowance and said that this allowance is the acknowledgment of their services.
