President can assume as chief executive after PM’s disqualification

 

ISLAMABAD: After the disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Panamagate case, President Mamnoon Hussain would assume the responsibilities of the chief executive of the country till the election of new leader of the house.

Talking to Online, Kanwar Dilshad, former secretary Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said that president is the part of parliament as the House has elected him as the president.

“Until the new PM is elected, the president can perform the state affairs through secretary cabinet”, he added.

He categorically rejected this impression that there is no government in the country.
