BSNs targeting CPEC

What does this mean?

Death Anniversary of Nawab Akbar Bugti is used to rally the insurgents into defiance and acts of rebellion. Perhaps in death Akbar Bugti draws more reverence than during his life time.

The arrest of senior Indian intelligence agency spook Commander Kulbhushan Jadhav may have diluted the insurgency in Balochistan temporarily but India, which seems hell bent on targeting CPEC, has apparently resumed its machinations.

BSNs (Baloch Sub Nationalists) are reportedly engaged in rekindling the insurgency at the behest of RAW. The month of August is going to be occupied by a busy schedule for the rebellious BSNs, who are being coaxed to use various occasions in August to create mayhem and further the heinous Indian conspiracy to destabilise Pakistan and sabotage the CPEC.

BSNs plan to target 11 August, the “Baloch Independence Day”. Balochistan had declared its independence on 11 August 1947 but in 1948, its founding fathers thought it prudent to join Pakistan. Last year, on the occasion of the “Baloch Independence Day”, a massive bomb blast on Zarghon Road near the Al Khair Hospital in Quetta left at least a dozen people injured. Earlier, another explosion had left seventy persons dead in its wake. According to Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, the blasts are aimed at sabotaging Independence Day activities in Balochistan. He declared that the cowardly acts will not bring down the morale of the Baloch nation. Sarfaraz Bugti reiterated that the Baloch are in a conflict zone and will fight with renewed resolve.

It may be recalled that during his Independence Day 2016 address to the nation, astride the ramparts of Red Fort in New Delhi, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi crossed a red line, when he declared solidarity with BSNs and restated his support for Baloch Independence. Since then Indian activities to strike at the foundations of Balochistan, CPEC and Pakistan have assumed a feverish pitch. India knows that once the various projects of CPEC see fruition, Pakistan’s fortunes will change and the wheels of progress cannot be turned back.

This14 August, various activities have been planned to observe Pakistan’s Independence Day in a befitting manner in the strife torn province of Balochistan as in the rest of Pakistan. Chatter on different BSN websites indicates that numerous assaults are being plotted to wreak havoc.

Death Anniversary of Nawab Akbar Bugti, which falls on 26 August, is going to be used as an excuse for striking at government and public installations to create fear and awe in the minds of the people.

It may be recalled that Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, who was the Chief of the Bugti tribe, had earlier served as the Minister of State for Interior and Governor and Chief Minister of Balochistan, had done little for the welfare of the Baloch. He however took up arms against the state of Pakistan. He reportedly maintained a private militia and led a guerrilla war against the state. On 26 August 2006, Bugti, along with some personnel of the Pakistan army, was killed when his hide-out cave, located in Kohlu, about 150 miles east of Quetta, collapsed after an explosion set off by Pakistan Army.

His death anniversary is used to rally the insurgents into defiance and acts of rebellion. Perhaps in death Akbar Bugti draws more reverence than during his life time.

It may be recalled that Allah Nazar and his group Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) continued to harass local population in Awaran, Punjgur and Kech districts for some time; however, he fled from the area on arrival of the armed forces during earthquake relief activities in September 2013.

Indians have been racking up the issue of alleged disappearance of Baloch and blaming Pakistan Army and ISI for the missing persons. The facts are that a number of non-Baloch residents of the disturbed province have been targeted and killed by BSNs and buried in mass graves. Time and again these mass graves are discovered but Indian propagandists maliciously claim that the dead bodies belong to Baloch people. A simple DNA test can disprove the lie.

On 30 August, which happens to be the “International Day of Victims of Enforced Disappearances”, India will coerce BSNs to organise demonstrations in different capitals of the world to denigrate Pakistan and raise the issue of forced disappearances in Balochistan.

India has recruited various pawns to further its odious conspiracy in Balochistan. Dr Allah Nazar, a terrorist hailing from Awaran, Balochistan, is reportedly being directly supported by Indian spy agency RAW to commit heinous crimes against humanity but blaming Pakistan Army for them.

Recently, adhering to its practice, an Indian propaganda website managed by RAW namely “One India” uploaded a concocted venomous interview of the notorious terrorist Dr Allah Nazar. The central contents of the interview revolve around customary and unsubstantiated allegations against Pakistan’s law-enforcing and intelligence agencies and Pak-China relations. To attract sympathies of civil society and to create sensation, website introduces him as so-called freedom movement leader fighting against Jihadist elements and ISIS.

It may be recalled that Allah Nazar and his group Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) continued to harass local population in Awaran, Punjgur and Kech districts for some time; however, he fled from the area on arrival of the armed forces during earthquake relief activities in September 2013. People of the area felt immensely relieved after the arrival of the armed forces with their large scale relief efforts. Since then, Allah Nazar and his likeminded militants have fled to other areas only known to RAW, and are carrying out terrorist activities. In fact, Indians are desperate to hyphenate Pakistan with ISIS/Jihadists and a portion of so-called interview of Allah Nazar was full of these false accusations.

Another BSN, Naila Baloch, while she herself dwells in India, takes oath to sever Balochistan from Pakistan and to remain loyal to the Indian government and RSS. She appears on various Indian TV channels, spewing venom and false propaganda against Pakistan. Another so called Baloch activist is Ahmer Musti Khan, who appears on Indian TV channels and even heckled the Pakistani Prime Minister during a speech in USA. He has three nationalities, Burmese, Pakistani and American. He is engaged in propaganda campaigns against Pakistan at the behest of India. Ahmer Musti Khan is a pseudo journalist, who is supported by India as well as Israel in targeting Pakistan.

The government of Pakistan and its armed forces has launched numerous development projects to help bringing the Baloch into the mainstream. Educational institutions, roads, communication network, medical facilities, trade, commerce and industrial centres have been planned to uplift the erstwhile impecunious province. Recruitment of Baloch youth in the police and three armed services of Pakistan are likely to help the Baloch youth in gaining employment. The advent of CPEC is likely to usher an era of prosperity and development. This August, the law enforcing agencies will have to be extra vigilant to pre-empt the planned terror attacks to derail the process of development.
