Former Afghan president, Hamid Karzai, amongst many others,  condemned the attack on Folk music legend Zarsanga after she and her family were beaten by a mob of villagers over a monetary dispute on Sunday Night.

The condemnations ranged from diplomats and ambassadors to media personalities and local politicians.

Dr Fouzia Saeed, Executive director of Lok Virsa also strongly condemned the attack on Zarsanga and her family, saying that the folk queen was one of the most precious folk artists and was a pride for Pakistan.

She also appealed to the KP government to immediately register a FIR against the people involved in the assault and provide protection and justice to the singer. She is to visit the singer today to show her solidarity with her.

Likewise, Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb strongly condemned the attack and torturing of the singer and her sons on Radio Pakistan.

The ill treatment the singer faced at her time in the hospital and the poverty she was living in was also criticised.

After the former Afghan president condemned the attack, Afghan fans of the folk legend criticised the Pakistani government for the treatment that the singer has faced, arguing that they should send the singer over to Afghanistan if the Pakistan can not help her.
