Opposition leader in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Saturday termed what he said stubbornness of the Pakistan Muslim League-N leaders in their current miseries.

Talking to media persons in Sukkur, he emphasised that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) desires continuity of democracy and was against dissolution of the assemblies. He suggested PML-N to save democracy by naming replacement of Nawaz Sharif.

He said the PPP wanted the PML-N to nominate a new prime minister so that the government completes its five-year mandated term. Shah apprised reporters that unprecedented remarks were given by judges during hearing of Panama case and said that gone were the days when rulers could attack courts.

While accusing the government of saving former Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) chairman Zafar Hijazi, he called for the comprehensive probe to unearth names on whose directives Hijazi tempered the record. Shah accused PML-N of defaming state institutions with moves like news leaks. “We never fought with institutions while rendered unrivalled sacrifices for democracy,” he said.
