ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan’s press conference in Islamabad has been delayed until tomorrow, it has been reported
As per sources, the presser is likely to condemn the role of opposition parties in the Panama Papers case.
Sources are also reported to have said that it is likely that Nisar may only resign from his ministry in retaliation if Defence Minister Khawaja Asif becomes the interim premier in case the prime minister is disqualified.
Earlier, it had also been reported that Nisar had been missing from a number of important PML-N meetings held to discuss and formulate a strategy regarding the Panama Case wih the Supreme Court reserving the case verdict.
As per sources, the minister may announce his resignation during today’s news conference.
Local media outlets have also quoted the interior minister as saying that the prime minister has been surrounded by immature individuals, who can be held responsible for the present precarious situation.
Furthermore, as per sources, Nisar had also been distanced out of the consultation process for the past month, adding that he will not leave the party, but will not hold any office.
A spokesman from the interior ministry denied all such media reports, saying that things will be clarified at the interior minister’s presser today.
