Conspiracy against PML-N surfaced after JIT report?

Prime minister’s spokesperson Dr Musadik Malik on Saturday said that a conspiracy, being hatched against the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) government, had surfaced after the report of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT).

Speaking in a private TV show, he said that the JIT report was apparently biased, unauthentic and inconclusive. He said that JIT had not conducted interview from Qatari royal which was not logical and there were many gaps and flaws in its investigation process.

Musadik said that the prime minister would not resign as his hands were clean. Replying to a question, he urged Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to submit detail of his bank accounts in the Supreme Court.

PML-N leader Talal Chaudhry said that the ruling party can never be divided and the party remains strong under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. “Our opponents think that the party will be weakened and divided. During such times, we are more united than ever under Nawaz Sharif’s leadership,” he said.

His remarks come after Leader of Opposition Khursheed Shah said the premier needs to decide by tonight regarding his resignation. “I suggest that Shah think over his statement as neither has he given the prime minister this power nor he can threaten to take it,” he said. He also said that it has become a norm for political opponents of Nawaz Sharif to ask for his resignation.

“We have said it before the prime minister will not step down from his post,” he said. On Friday, the Supreme Court reserved its judgement in the Panama Papers case. The PML-N held a meeting following the development and decided the verdict of the apex court would be accepted even if it was unfavourable for the ruling party.
