Israeli police hurled stun grenades to disperse dozens of the protesters outside the mosque, Islam's third holiest site, after Friday prayers. Tensions flared this week at the site after police arrested Israeli ultranationalists who tried to hold prayers at the compound revered by Jews as well as Muslims. In a latest series of attacks on Palestinian muslims by the Israeli forces, Masjid Al-Aqsa has been declared a no-go area and praying in the mosque has been prohibited by the Israel Government. However, yesterday a huge number of muslims made it to the mosque for their jummah prayers but while performing their religious duties they were attacked by the Israeli forces who opened fire and threw tear gas on the worshippers causing chaos and panic.

It’s important to note that Masjid Al-Aqsa is the second most important religious site for muslims after the holy sites in Saudi Arabia
