Couple found dead in house in suspected honour killing

KARACHI: A young couple has been found dead at a house in District Central in what appears to be a case of honour killing on Friday.

The incident took place early the other day in Hussain D’Silva Town, North Nazimabad, within the limits of Sharae Noor Jahan police station.

The deceased were both aged 20. The bodies have been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Security officials including the Rangers and police, reached the site of the incident to collect evidence. Initial investigations suggest that the two deceased were neighbours, and the man ran a general store in the area. Furthermore, the initial probe suggests that the girl’s father and brother are the key suspects in the incident.

SHO Abdul Ghaffar is further reported to have stated that the suspects escaped the scene of the incident after the victims were slain with a sharp weapon. The bodies of the deceased have been handed over to the respective families for burial and a case has been lodged against the suspects. An investigation into the incident is underway.
