Bollywood is abuzz with the word ‘nepotism’ these days, thanks to the Karan Johar, Kangana Ranaut fiasco, which is all that Bollywood has been talking about lately.
So among all that, we’re now hearing rumours that director Sanjay Leela Bhansali might cast niece Sharmin and Jaaved Jaafri’s son Meezan Jaafri in his next movie!
Mangesh Hadawale is rumoured to be directing this movie, who has previously directed the Marathi movie ‘Tingyaa’ as well as Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer ‘Dekh India Circus’.
Meezan also assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali on his last film ‘Bajirao Mastani’. He’s a film graduate from New York, and is apparently a martial arts expert and as good a dancer as his father Jaaved Jaafri was.
However, perhaps just to keep the ‘nepotism’ criticism in check, it is now being rumoured that Meezan auditioned for his role and was chosen based on his talent.
We first came to know of this, when Jaaved Jaafri tweeted about it.
The director will cast Meezan against his sister Bela Sehgal’s daughter Sharmin in the movie. SLB and Bela are very close and she has edited most of his films over the years.
The movie is said to be based on real life and will start production next year.
