ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf spokersperson Fawad Chaudhry appeared confident on Friday that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be disqualified and sent to jail in Supreme Court’s verdict pertaining to the Panama Case.

Addressing the media following the Supreme Court’s hearing over the JIT report implementation case, he said “Nawaz Sharif has lied to the nation, assembly, and court,”  adding that the premier had not disclosed assets linked with his United Arab Emirates based Company (Capital FZE).

PTI leader Asad Umar also congratulated the people over the wrapping up of the “historic case.”

“It is the first time [in history] that an elected individual is being held accountable,” Umar told the media.

Awami Muslim League leader Sheikh Rashid on Friday said he is sure that the prime minister will be disqualified.

“We have requested the court to hear a contempt of court case against Nawaz Sharif,” Rashid said, talking to media after the SC reserved its verdict on the Panama case.
