LRH suspends 7 technicians for ignoring roof leakage

PESHAWAR: The Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Peshawar has suspended 7 technicians after ordering inquiries against them for allegedly not reporting roof leakage to the administration and ignoring a video record of the incident.

Technicians Farid, Masood, Shakeel, Maaz, Shahzeb, Nusrat and Younas have been suspended till further orders. The inquiry committee with Associate Director Tariq Khan as its chairman has been directed to submit a fact finding report along with its recommendations in a week.

The notification dated July 15, 2017, which was issued by the office of hospital director, has gone viral on social media.

Talking to Pakistan Today on telephone on Wednesday, Lady Reading Hospital assistant media manager confirmed the notification circulating on social media and the suspension and inquiry of the technicians.

He said: “The technicians have been suspended for not shifting patients during roof leakage since we have a lot of space in the Lady Reading Hospital. We have alternate arrangements as well. But the technicians did not use any alternative. For that reason, the inquiry has been ordered against them.”

“We do not protect mistakes and take action. We want to provide better healthcare facilities to patients at the Lady Reading Hospital,” he added.

Further blaming the technicians, he said “they could have prevented the roof leakage had they informed the administration immediately.”

The inquiry report will come out in a day or two and further action will be taken against those found guilty.
