Judge awards life sentence to criminal

FAISALABAD: The Additional District and Sessions Judge Ikramul Haq awarded life imprisonment, fine of Rs200, 000 to a man for the crime of murdering a person in the Saddar police area.

The accused Ashfaq Shah, along with Waqas, Adil Shah, Asif, Akmal, Muhammad Naveed, Ehsan and Nawaz had killed Matloob Hussain in 2012 over past issues, however, the police managed to arrest all of them.

The fine collected by the accused will be given to the relatives of the deceased. Ashfaq’s accomplices were given the benefit of doubt and hence were allowed to go free.

In another case, life imprisonment was awarded by the judge to a criminal, Jamshed, for murdering a person in Saddar police area. He was accused of murdering a passerby, Kamran. An Anti-Terrorism Court also awarded life sentence to a convict involved in a kidnapping for ransom case in Dera Ghazi Khan.
