‘Game is over’ for Nawaz Sharif, says Sheikh Rasheed

ISLAMABAD: Awami Muslim League (AML) President Sheikh Rasheed on Wednesday claimed that ‘game is over’ for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif after his counsel Khawaja Haris admitted in the Supreme Court (SC) that his client was issued Iqama (residence permit) by the UAE government, and was also the chairman of the board of Capital FZE—an offshore company exposed by the Panama Leaks Joint Investigation Team (JIT).

Sheikh Rasheed added that the apex court has said Sharif family can still submit the money trail, if it has any. He said no documents have been submitted yet in the SC by the ruling family against the JIT report. “The terms of reference (ToR) were not made when we demanded,” he remarked.

The AML chief said those who are abusing JIT are actually abusing the Supreme Court. He once again said that the wise decision for Nawaz Sharif at the moment is to step down, as he has got no other choice. Those who are advising the premier to fight against the situation are actually digging his political grave, he observed.
