KARACHI: Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) on Tuesday has dispatched a warning to M/s Funrama Arts and Entertainment to discontinue all cinema-related activities in the building of the Islamic Cultural Centre.
According to this notice, this is being done by Karachi’s Mayor Wasim Akhtar, in an effort to restore the building of the Islamic Cultural Centre to its former shape. This is being done under the directives of the Supreme Court.
The notice also states that in the event of Funrama Arts and Entertainment not shutting down the cinema within the prescribed seven days, the KMC would have to use force to get it done.
The cinema in question was originally built by the KMC for the Islamic Cultural Centre.
