ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Monday made it clear that all opposition parties were on the same page regarding the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Addressing the meeting of the press participants here at National Press Club (NPC), he said Nawaz Sharif should tender his resignation now because he has lost moral and legal authority to continue as the country’s premier.

About the future strategy of his party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said in case PM does not tender resignation then his party will chalk out its own strategy.

“We will inform the public about the party’s next step in case the PM does not tender resignation”, he added. He further said that there would be no threat to democracy if Nawaz Sharif tenders resignation.

He said that the PPP has been demanding the premier’s resignation since a while and the demand goes in the interest of the people and country. He said that his party would produce good results in the 2018 general elections.

He also paid tribute to media personnel, highlighting the fact that several journalists had laid down their lives while doing their duty. “PPP and the media have together battled dictatorship,” he said. He assured that he will put forth the demand for legislation for the protection of journalists. He also expressed solidarity with the journalist community.

While responding to a question, Bilawal said if the Sharif family doesn’t accept the rule of law, the PPP will consider all other options.

The leaders of Pakistan Peoples Party have also urged Chairman Bilawal Bhutto to launch train march from Karachi to Islamabad and demand PM resignation.

According to sources, PPP is mulling on demanding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s resignation via a train march which will be led by party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Sources said senior party leaders have forwarded the idea to chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Bilawal has been advised to lead the march from Karachi to Islamabad and address party workers on railways stations throughout Sindh and Punjab and will try to compel PM for his resignation.

It is vital to mention here that the final decision will be taken after consulting PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and taking into account the security situation.

Pakistan Peoples Party Senator Shireen Rehman also said that entire nation is waiting for Supreme Court verdict on Panama adding PPP will not step back from its demand of Prime Minister Resignation.

While talking to a private media channel Shireen said proofs have come to open against PML-N in JIT report and now they have to give answers to the questions at every cost instead of targeting JIT report.

The whole world is mocking and pointing fingers and this is a question of the prestige of Pakistan, she added.
