Marriyum castigates PTI chief for his hypocrisy

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb responding to the fulminations of Imran Khan at the PTI workers convention on Sunday, wherein he accused the government of attacking the state institutions and vowed to defend their honour, strongly castigated him for what she termed as sheer hypocrisy on his part.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, she asked that how a person who had been abusing the state institutions, had attacked the parliament and hung dirty clothes on the premises of the Supreme Court, could talk about defending and upholding their sanctity and honour?

She said Imran Khan had used Zakat funds for money laundering and was a fugitive from three courts but he still had the audacity to point accusing fingers at others and ask for their accountability. Marriyum advised Imran to unlock the Ehtsab Commission of Pakhtunkhwa and put that lock on his own wagging tongue.

She said that Imran was a liar, a thief and a mentally deranged person and the entire nation was witness to that. Marriyum said the workers of PTI had seen the real face of Imran and were deserting him to join other political parties and the masses were well aware of what he was doing to them. She said that PTI had become a party of the corrupt elements and carpet-baggers.

She advised Imran to wait for the court decision. She said the prime minister would emerge triumphant like always and Imran would have to eat dust. Referring to his calls to the party workers to come on streets, she said that if Nawaz Sharif gave a call to his party workers then Imran would have no place to hide. She said that the people would not spare Imran for what he had been doing during the last four years.

Talking to a private TV channel, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said that a political agenda was in working on the name of accountability against the prime minister and its objectives were not different from sit-in-I and sit-in-II.

Conspiracy being hatched to send the democratic government home could not be successful as the people of the country were with PML-N, he said, adding that members of the cabinet, entire party and the people of Pakistan were standing behind Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his government.

Ahsan said that members of PML-N expressed confidence on the prime minister during the meetings of the cabinet and parliamentary committee and it was decided there to contest the biased Joint Investigation Team’s (JIT) report in the Supreme Court.

He said that the masses who elected the PML-N and the prime minister were aware that the government was working for their betterment and had launched several projects. He said that the PML-N government had been serving for four years and no corruption scandal was reported during the time.

Addressing a public gathering, Prime Minister’s Adviser Amir Muqam said that Nawaz Sharif’s premiership was imperative to foil nefarious designs of anti-China Pakistan Economic Corridor and undemocratic powers who have become against a democratic prime minister and a political party.
