Marriyum Aurangzeb says JIT report not equal to SC decision

????????????????????????????????????

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report is not equal to a decision by the Supreme Court.

She also said that contrary to the JIT report, the Supreme Court will give verdict according to law and constitution and that PM Nawaz Sharif will be successful. According to her, the volume 10 of the JIT report has still not been made public despite repeated requests.

She said that the JIT is not qualified to accuse the government of corruption in tax payers’ money and that its report is false and incorrect and that no one can demand PM’s resignation on the basis of non-verified documents.

Daniyal Aziz while talking to the media also blamed the JIT for ignoring important facts in the report and said that it is by no means the final verdict.

Aziz while commenting on the notorious Calibri font issue, Aziz argued that it was available since 2004. He said that the lawyer ignored the ‘most likely’ point in the statements and moved ahead without reading the whole line.

A three-member SC bench comprising Justice Ejaz Afzal, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Ijazul Hassan resumed hearing of the final phase of Panamagate case on Monday. However, the hearing was adjourned till the next day as Justice Ijaz-ul-Hassan remarked that they are not bound to accept JIT findings.
