JIT report missed important facts, has ambiguities, says Daniyal Aziz

ISLAMABAD: PML-N leader Daniyal Aziz while addressing the media reporters outside the apex court on Monday  (today) claimed that the Panama case Joint Investigation (JIT) report is incomplete since it has ignored many crucial facts.

Aziz further said that from the onset, the evidence presented in the JIT report is being termed as ‘trash’. Even the judges have now raised questions regarding verification of the documents.

Aziz argued that the JIT report is full of ambiguities, ignored facts and has used words such  ‘most likely’ and ‘it seems’.

He further claimed that a solicitor has signed the trust deed between Hussain Nawaz and Maryam Nawaz in 2006. The JIT members have made all efforts to tamper the official records to prove that the document was signed in 2004. They contacted forensic members to tamper official records to prove that Sharif family is guilty, he remarked.

Aziz further argued that people who talk about justice should be probed as well.

“A leader whose properties have been ordered to be seized by court but he is holding rallies and badmouthing the government.” There are cases against our opponents at Election Commission of Pakistan yet they never show up for the hearings, they don’t file their replies and keep changing their lawyers, he said, adding “we are against this selective justice”.

“If you want laws to be followed then they should be enforced upon everyone equally. Why is also one family being targeted?”

He further added that people who are not petitioners in the case also attended the hearing on Monday. “Members of Pakistan Peoples Party and Muttahida Qaumi Movement came to the court, it seems as if someone gave them this duty.”
