ISLAMABAD: As many as five of a family are feared dead due to their vehicle being swept away in the rain in Khuzdar, Balochistan.
As per reports, a strong flash flood swept the car away on Tuesday. Locals and authorities have recovered the body of one of the family members, while a search operation is underway to find the others.
In addition, a bridge connecting the Quetta-Karachi National Highway was swept away by the rain which led to the traffic being suspended on the main route.
Authorities have issued warnings of flash floods in Balochistan with monsoon rains continuing in various parts of country.
Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Nawabshah and Hub registered heavy rainfall while showers are likely in Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan.
In Karachi, light rain has continued intermittently since Saturday evening. The Met Office has predicted the rains to last until Monday.
