The Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) has come up with excellent performance against anti-state elements especially smugglers of narcotics and human trafficking, said Vice-Admiral Kaleem Shaukat, Commander Pakistan Fleet Karachi on Saturday.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the PCG recruits’ passing out parade held at its Training Centre, Korangi here. The Director General Pakistan Rangers Sindh, Director General ASF, senior officers of Pakistan Army and Sindh police, notables and people from various walks of life attended the ceremony.
As many as 164 recruits participated in the passing out parade and 30 of them were from Balochistan. The chief guest along with PCG Director General Brig Atiq-ur-Rehman, reviewed the parade and distributed prizes among those who excelled during the training.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest congratulated the passing out recruits and said that PCG was an important force of the country which was performing simultaneously at the sea and the land in Sindh and Balochistan.
He said that the PCG played a significant role against anti-state elements, narcotics smugglers and human traffickers and for this it deserved commendation.
Vice-Admiral Kaleem Shaukat also praised the role of Director General Brig Atiq-ur-Rehman. PCG’s anti-terrorist squad that had obtained training from Pakistan Army, demonstrated the defence skills on the occasion.
Recruit Asad Zeeshan who secured first position was conferred PCG Director General’s honorary sword. Recruit Muhammad Humayun Ashraf and Recruit Ali Raza who had obtained second and third positions respectively were given trophies.
