ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Babar Awan, on Saturday, told CM Shehbaz Sharif to voluntarily step down or else the court will sack him.
Calling Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif as Godfather 2, the PTI leader said the allegations against him are enough for his disqualification.
Awan also demanded to arrest those who gave orders to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Chairman Muhammad Zafar Hijazi for record tempering.
Talking on Panama Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report, he said that names of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif were prominent and that approximately 35 people were found accused in the report. He also said that three names were mentioned in Hudaibiya Paper Mill who gathered money.
He said that a reference was submitted in Punjab Assembly against Punjab CM but nothing happened.
Earlier, Babar Awan said Finance Minister Ishaq Dar is accused of money laundering, he should resign along with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He said that only one case has opened against the Sharif family, and it has made all of them as thieves.
Babar Awan added that there is no institution in this country which has not demanded the resignation of these officials.
