Punjab law minister honours 1st anniversary of coup in Turkey


LAHORE: Punjab Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that the military coup in Turkey was a conspiracy which Turks had foiled through their unity and spirit of patriotism.

He was addressing a ceremony to commemorate the first anniversary of Turkey’s July 15 coup attempt at Shaheen Complex on Saturday.

Serdar Deniz, the consul general of Turkey, Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan, Metro Train Orange Line Steering Committee chairman and Khawaja Suhmail, additional chief secretary were present on this occasion.

Rana Sanaullah Khan said that it is impossible to find appropriate words to describe the brutality that the miscreants displayed that night.  He said that it was the people of Turkey from all backgrounds and political views who resisted and displayed a historic example of solidarity as they stood selflessly in front of the tanks.

Earlier, Consul General Serdar Deniz said we were determined to fight anti state elements with three things which are rule of law, morality and democracy. He said that this is the only way to counter such enemies of democracy.
