ISLAMABAD: A petition has been filed in Supreme Court (SC) seeking the disqualification of Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah.

Petitioner Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi filed the petition on Saturday pleading that the CM was disqualified in dual nationality case in 2012, and the SC  had ordered him to return all privileges and salaries but he did comply with the court’s orders.

The petitioner further stated that Murad Ali Shah contested by-election on a fake affidavit from the constituency of PS-73 Jamshoro and succeeded through connivance in by-polls.

The provincial election commission didn’t implement the court orders and issued a notification of his success in the by-elections.

The petitioner prayed to the court that it should issue orders for removal of the CM from his office and direct him to return all privileges and money, paid to him from the national treasury, within the time period of 15 days.
