Information and Broadcasting State Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s steps have helped to overcome the menace of terrorism and energy crisis.
She was addressing a launching ceremony of the Independence Day celebrations’ logo, held at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts in Islamabad.
The achievements of the government during the last four years in the eradication of terrorism were praised.
“Due to the government’s efforts and the sacrifices of the security forces terror incidents [in the country] have been reduced by 88 per cent in the country,” she said.
She said the achievements made in the energy, infrastructure, health, education and other sectors will be highlighted in the ceremony, along with government’s efforts to curb terror. She also said that the theme of celebrations this year is a promotion of the cultural diversity of the country as per the directives of the prime minister.
