People in Lahore are facing difficulties waiting for buses as bus shelters are not available on some of the busiest roads of Lahore, e.g. Edgerton Road and Allama Iqbal Road Lahore, etc.
According to details, there is not a single bus shelter for passengers, a huge concern for people residing in these areas, more so as humidity rises in Lahore. According to a recent survey by a local news channel, it has been found out that there is a severe dearth of proper bus shelters on some of the busiest of roads in Lahore.
People criticised government’s lack of responsibility in this regard. They also said that the government, even after repeated demands, has remained unable to provide citizens with proper bus stands.
Lahore Transport Company, on the other hand, says that construction of bus shelters is not the responsibility of LTC. Shelters that already existed on these routes were constructed by the PHA, Lahore Division Commissioner; but got affected by the several road projects undertaken by the Punjab government, making the situation much worse than it already was.
In other news, Metro Bus administration had closed its Canal station to fix the problems, but, even after three months, they haven’t been able to fix the issues.
People have requested the higher authorities to fix these two issues as soon as possible.
