Peshawar Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Imtaiz Ahmed Qureshi said on Friday that the police force has been made free from political interference in the province and has played a key role in eliminating terrorism and militancy from the country.

Addressing the 67th police passing out function in Kohat district, the minister said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has empowered the police force by keeping it free from political interference.

He said that our security forces, including army and police, have made unparalleled sacrifices for the country and terrorism and militancy were eliminated due to their sacrifices.

Imtaiz Ahmed said that protecting life and property was the police force’s prime duty and great responsibly rests on the shoulders of the passed out recruits to carry forward the mission of their predecessors. The minister said that the performance and sacrifices of KP police has been recognised by all.

The minister said that PC-I for construction of boundary walls around police training school, Kohat was prepared and work would start soon. He directed the Kohat deputy commissioner to install a solar panel and construct an auditorium in the school.

Earlier, the law minister inspected the smartly turned out parade. The contingents of police presented solute to the minister who was the chief guest on the occasion.
