LAHORE: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) SSP Rai Ijaz Ahmad presided over a meeting regarding Automated Number Plate Reading System (ANPRS), E-challaning and E-licensing at the Punjab Safe City Authority on Friday.
SSP Safe City Authority Nasir Akbar Khan, representatives of Customs, Excise and concerned departments were present on the occasion.
CTO Rai Ijaz Ahmad said on the occasion that working regarding Automated Number Plate Reading System is about to finish and soon this project will be launched in the city.
City Traffic Police Lahore is taking important measures to improve the traffic system with the collaboration of its allied departments i.e. Punjab Safe City Authority, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), Excise Department, TEPA, TEVTA and other concerned departments.
These measures citizens will be able to get the best transport facilities on the roads and reach their destination without any difficulty.
As reforms are underway in the sectors of Punjab Police with the help of information technology, the same way various projects are going on to improve the flow of traffic in the city.
SSP Nasir Akbar Khan said that the cameras of the Ssafe City, installed on roads, will be able to read the number plates of vehicles after launching Automated Number Plate Reading System and challans will be sent to the driver’s postal address through these cameras. 90 per cent work has been completed regarding this project and this project will be launched soon. The city’s traffic system can be greatly improved by implementing the measures discussed in the meeting.
