TIRAH: Two Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel were injured in Khyber Agency when a suicide bomber blew himself up as he attempted to target a security check post on Friday (today) morning. As per security officials, two suicide bombers tried to attack the FC post in Tirah from the main gate but were shot down by security guards.
One suspected suicide bomber was killed as a result of the firing while the other blew himself up, wounding two officials.
As per sources, the FC launched a search operation in the area, also conducting retaliatory fire at suspected militant hideouts across the border.
In a statement, the Pakistan Army said terrorists, including two suicide bombers, from across the border attempted to attack the Misthara Post, around two kilometres north-west of Jarobi on the Pak-Afghan border.
The main headquarters of the FC in the tribal agency is located in Landi Kotal tehsil.
