Youm-E-Shuhada-E-Kashmir being observed today

Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and the world over will observe Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Kashmir on Thursday (today) with a renewed pledge to accomplish the mission of martyrs till achievement of the goal of liberation from Indian bondage.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a complete strike is being observed across the held territory today as part the week-long protest calendar, call for which has been given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.

On 13th July 1931, the troops of Dogra Maharaja had killed 22 Kashmiris, one after the other, outside Central Jail in Srinagar during the court’s proceedings against one Abdul Qadeer who had asked Kashmiri people to defy the Dogra rule.

In Azad Kashmir, the main function in connection with Youm-e- Shuhada-e-Kashmir will be held in Muzaffarabad with AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider in the chair.

Meanwhile, the joint resistance leadership wrote a petition to the member states of the United Nations, international organisations and human rights defenders and bodies and urged them to play their role in finding out a just settlement of the Kashmir dispute.

Meanwhile, the Indian troops during violent crackdown operation martyred three Kashmiri youth in Budgam district the other day.
