LAHORE: Special Protection Unit (SPU) SSP Syed Ali Mohsin dismissed 41 officials on the charges of dereliction of duty, negligence and absenteeism.
Similarly, he got cases registered against 70 officials under the Police Order 2002 at Farooqabad on various charges, including abuse of power and irresponsible behaviour.
The SSP said that at least 111 officials of the SPU, established to protect the foreign citizens and experts, had already been dismissed from the service on various charges.
He said that the objective behind the establishment of the SPU was to protect the foreigners working on different government projects in Punjab and there was no place for inefficient, incompetent and lethargic officials in such a sensitive force.
