Khursheed Shah meets Sheikh Rasheed to get his support against PM

Opposition Leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah Thursday met Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed to gather his support against Prime Minister PM Nawaz Sharif.

The opposition parties have geared up the preparations to launch a mega campaign against the premier after the Panama Joint Investigation Team (JIT) submitted its final report in Supreme Court (SC).

It is crucial to mention here that Khursheed Shah will also meet Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan chief Farooq Sattar to convince him to submit a requisition for NA session.

Earlier, Khursheed Shah held meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi during which he said that if PM Nawaz wants to save democracy, he should immediately resign. There will be no damage to the system if he leaves the office, he continued.

Will have no reservation if Nawaz Sharif brings forward his new PM after resignation, assured Shah.

Later, while talking to the media, Shah said that they (PPP) had introduced Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and ensured that 370,000 workers were given a job on a permanent basis. “We ordered a survey to find out about the level of poverty in Pakistan,” he said, adding that that workers’ salaries were not enough for their day to day affairs.

PTI’s Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Nawaz Sharif is left with no moral, political and legal authority to stay on PM’s post after JIT report.

“We and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have same stance over PM’s resignation, and Bilawal Bhutto has supported Imran Khan’s statement in this regard,” he added.

Shah Mahmood further claimed that PTI is also in contact with other parties after which joint stance will be adopted.
