Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, while addressing a press conference on Thursday, rejected the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report, saying the report is “fabricated” and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) rejects it.

He said, “We would request the court to put this report in a trash can,” adding that PML-N will challenge the report in Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Taking a jab at the JIT, he said the team, without leaving the country, ended up going everywhere. “JIT is more like ‘jin IT’,” he remarked.

In a reference to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, the law minister said the JIT report contained all the things that were said in the dharnas (protest demonstrations).

Referring to PTI chief as “ilzaam” Khan, Sanaullah mocked his remarks.

Ilzaam Khan says the PM’s children became billionaires. His efforts to remove the PM will not succeed,” Sanaullah said, adding that if the nation rejected him, the premier would leave by himself.

He also mentioned that the government wasn’t able to procure documents from the British Virgin Islands.

Defending the prime minister, he said PM Nawaz has completed hundreds of projects over the years, adding, “In 36 years, PM served in various different positions. We are proud that the entire PML-N is standing with the PM.”

PM Nawaz has governed the country in a transparent manner, he said, adding the JIT inquiry had failed to taint Nawaz Sharif’s reputation.

“It’s not just the Punjab Assembly, the entire Punjab trusts Nawaz Sharif,” the minister added.

  1. One can see the state of law and order. The convicted criminals are issuing statements. This man alongside Dramabaz has been caught by Modal Town JIT already. This will be next. So their worries are not unfounded.
