ATC sends man to jail for 13 years over sharing provocative material on Facebook

SARGODHA: An Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Tariq Mehmood Zargham, on Thursday, awarded 13 years rigorous imprisonment (RI) to an accused in a cyber crime case, registered by the Phularwan police station.

The court sources said that on June 21, 2016, the Faisalabad Counter-Terrorism Department along with the district police Sargodha, conducted a raid at a house in Mohallah Hussaini Phularwan and arrested Imran alias Mano Shah for sharing sectarian material on Facebook.

The police registered a case against the accused and presented a challan in the ATC Sargodha.

After the charges were proved, the ATC judge awarded 13 years RI to the culprit along with Rs 250,000 fine.
